Why lockdown?

The COVID-19 virus is spreading fast, much faster than we normally see for regular Flu!

It seems like the COVID-19 virus has found a way to surprise the global healthcare system in such an extent that no one has been prepared for it. If we do not setup any restrictions, an infected person will easily spread the disease to three or more new people, and each of them will spread the disease to another three people. If that goes on, the number of infected people will explode, and the healthcare system will collapse. That will be a nightmare and that is the main reason for governments to close schools, restaurants etc.

By implementing restrictions such as; limiting the number of people allowed to gather, restricting people to hold a minimum of 2 meter distance from each other, disinfecting hands, and to mainly stay isolated at home, we can hopefully lower the transmission rate down to 1.6 meaning that one infected person will only spread the disease to 1.6 people.

If we can succeed in this, then our healthcare system will likely be able to cope with the situation – and that is what it’s all about. We must slow down the speed and spreading of the COVID-19!

We have seen proof from China that it is possible to fight the disease through hard restrictions for the population, and it looks like the Chinese healthcare system (and Government) has been successful in fighting the virus. We have also seen in the northern part of Italy that the situation can escalate extremely fast if we react too slowly, or if we do not respect the restrictions and recommendations from the healthcare system/government.

It is strongly recommended that we all take responsibility and protect each other from this Pandemic virus.

This is a race against time. We need to get as much time as possible for our healthcare system to be able to spread the workload and avoid a system collapse while the pharmaceutical industry puts every effort into the development and production of a new vaccine against COVID-19. Selecting high performance equipment in the production facilities is crucial to meet the challenge of the large quantities of vaccine doses needed to vaccinate the world.
